One dilemma that will soon arise is that there will be more nonsmoking hours than waking hours in one day, that we might need to stay awake for 16 hours or 20 hours or even 48 hours anticipating that first cigarette.
As we continue to increase the time limit, we eventually reach an amount of time that is equivalent to or greater than the amount of time we are awake on a given day.
Over time, we can make more mistakes and slip ups because of our natural mood fluctuation. We will have more opportunities for learning and growth.
All we need to do on the first day is to postpone the first cigarette with an amount of time that feels comfortable to us and is not too easy.
